American Queen Steamboat Company (AQSC) is excited to announce the American Countess Unsung Heroes Contest to recognize the individuals who are going above and beyond to support their communities in response to COVID-19. In anticipation of the American Countess inaugural sailing on August 23, 2020, the Unsung Heroes Contest will award five individuals with a complimentary cruise of their choice aboard any American Countess sailing on the Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee Rivers this September – December 2020.
The contest follows the recent announcement of AQSC's partnership with Ochsner Health and the cruise line's enhanced Safety and Health Protocols, which are ready to be implemented when AQSC resumes operations this summer. Norwegian Cruise Line announced the extension of its "Peace of Mind" cancelation policy into 2021 as well as a protracted final payment schedule in an effort to instill consumer confidence and inspire guests to transform their destination daydreams into vacation reality.
Guests sailing on cruises booked by Aug. 31, 2020 with embarkation dates from Jan. 1, 2021 to Oct. 31, 2021, now have the flexibility to cancel their cruise 15 days prior to departure. Those who take advantage of the Peace of Mind policy will receive a full refund in the form of a future cruise credit which may be applied to any sailing through Dec. 31, 2022. The Peace of Mind policy, which also allows guests to cancel up to 48 hours prior to embarkation for 2020 sailings, was initially launched in March 2020 to reassure guests during this extraordinary time.

Scenic has unveiled its 2021 Hidden Wonders of Europe's Rivers collection and a new Book with Confidence program. The 2021 offerings are detailed in a new digital brochure and include two new French culinary cruises and several new excursions.
The new Book with Confidence program, offered on bookings made by August 31, 2020, provides guests with additional flexibility and peace of mind when planning their 2021 river cruise – reducing deposit amounts and including a free Deposit Protection Plan (value $125) with every booking, according to the cruise operator.

The award-winning Emerald Waterways river cruise line has opened its books on the 2021 Russian river cruise season. Sailings will feature a newly chartered river-ship, the recently refurbished MS Nizhny Novgorod, built specifically to sail Russia's waterways including Europe's longest river, the Volga. Featuring two itineraries, sailings onboard the MS Nizhny Novgorod begin in May 2021 and are available for booking now.

Viking announced its new 2021-2022 Viking World Cruise, which will span 136 days, 27 countries and 56 ports, with overnight stays in 11 iconic cities. Setting sail on December 24, 2021, from Fort Lauderdale, the itinerary will include three new ports of call for Viking, including Phillip Island and Eden, Australia, as well as Yangon, Myanmar.
